Design 4 Media Project 5 Step 2 Updated

current step

Ok, So this is my complete designer stage. From the beginning of this process of concept to model, I knew that I was not going to actually need a color palette because I am just going to be modeling and detailing this character. Texturing and coloring will be later. However, I do understand the complete necessity for that thought process during this stage, it helps to understand what the character / model will ultimately look like. So, there is a palette for references only, I do believe it will change by the time it’s all said and done, but it’s a working palette for now.

Now, to break down this image.

  1. Upper Left, my silhouette mock ups, with various armor types that I am interested in
  2. Bottom Left, color palette and current variation of my character with a detail shot of the water elemental arm, I’m not completely happy with the way it’s drawn, but you get the idea. (I plan on the water elemental arm being water suspended in air, flowing out of a sleeve that is ripped and ragged with a ribbon or strap of material floating in the water as it pushes out of the arm sloshing around where the arm would be)
  3. Upper Middle, initial sketch section that was completed before I was given / chose this assignment
  4. Lower Middle, Variations of the elemental arms, on his right arm is going to be an earth elemental / rock and on the left is going to be a water elemental arm
  5. Upper Right, is a samurai sketch just getting a feel for what they would look like with a certain type of armor that I find impressive, it also helped me to understand the intricate parts of the samurai armor and what parts that my character would require
  6. Lower - Middle Right, Helmet variation sketches

As you can see, the process is coming along, I have a good deal more knowledge of what I want this character to look like, It’s getting close to modeling, I can feel it. ;)
