Design 4 Media Project P5 Step 2

current step

I’ve updated my samurai concept a bit and he’s going to be a samurai with elemental arms.

I’ve also included a color palette w/in the image of what the concept is going for. I think it’s pretty good to what I have in my mind for how it’s really going to look – except for the color palette on the images themselves, I’ve not corrected those colors yet. But use the color palette as the guide, he’s going to be mostly black with highlights of gold and red on the flag element and the swords. The rocks and water are going to have to have their own palette as they are going to be changing through this process. I’m thinking the water will almost be translucent or very very high key light blue and the rocks are going to be something similar to a lava rock with molten blue underneath that should accent the overall black and red palette thus far. Stay tuned for updates.

I’m planning on posting the original drawings and successive drawings sometime this week, I’m too tired tonight to post anything more, it’s already about 1am and I’m still writing this. ;)

Stay tuned for the updates though.

Anthony – out for some sleep. ;Z

This is a step in the right direction but don’t talk about visual work if you are not going to post it. I do like that you have a break-down guide for armor reference. But I really need to see these drawings you keep talking about. Mostly to see how you are going to approach the overall design. For example: this artist has clearly defined the silhouettes of each samurai (even the horses have strong silhouettes). Even though they do not have armor or elemental construction, the silhouettes read clearly.
